The Opioid Center of Support recently hosted a fundraiser and raised over $150,000 dollars to fight the opioid epidemic in New York City. Although OCS had hoped to host the event in person, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they broadcasted a panel discussion emceed by ABC’s Eyewitness News anchor Bill Ritter along with a pledge challenge.

OCS founder Vera Tkachuk, Social Good CEO Curtis Hougland and Dave Tanen, who has personally experienced the loss of a loved one because of opioid misuse, joined Ritter in the panel discussion to share their stories, talk about how COVID-19 impacted the opioid epidemic and how we destigmatize the conversation around opioid abuse and death.
