“I personally grew up in Singapore and was a gymnast, so I was getting injured a lot, but thankfully the way drugs are handled is very different in Singapore and I was fortunate enough not to have been exposed to opioids the way athletes & lots of other people I know here have been. It scares me to think that for people growing up in the city, we could all easily become a victim of this opioid epidemic. Something needs to change, it needed to change yesterday, and we are looking for you to lead that change.”
We Need Someone to Lead a Change
Peixi grew up in Singapore and sees a stark difference between how opioids are handled there and in her new hometown of New York City. She is calling on the next mayor to change how easily New Yorkers can access these drugs.
